A Fairfield man is facing domestic violence charges after a brief standoff in Waterville.

Fairfield, Maine, Man is Arrested in Waterville for Alleged Domestic Assault

Christopher Bryant, 49, of Fairfield, is charged with domestic violence assault and domestic violence terrorizing.

Waterville Police were called to a home at 267 Main Street at 2:40 am Monday for a report of a domestic dispute.

When they arrived, officials say they developed probable cause to charge Mr. Bryant, but he refused to exit the building.

Waterville, Maine Police Arrest a Fairfield Man After a Brief Standoff

A brief standoff ensued, and the police closed a small portion of Main Street in Waterville to keep the public safe while they tried to arrest Mr. Bryant.

It was approximately 6:45 am on Monday when the police department's crisis negotiators convinced Bryant to exit the home peacefully, and he was taken into custody.

Christopher Bryant was taken to jail, where his bail was set at $200. He's expected to appear in court on March 3rd.
