To Brewer’s Kind Soul Who Offered to Save My Day, Thank You
To the man who stopped at KFC in Brewer and offered help when my battery had died, I want to say thanks.
Nothing Ruins a Quiet Lunch Like a Dead Car Battery
It’s the worst feeling when you realize your car is turned off, but the lights are on, and you know the battery is dead.
I’ve experienced this twice in the past few weeks. (Yes, I now have a new battery!)

On Tuesday, I had a doctor’s appointment I didn’t want to miss when I realized I had done it again. The car was dead, and I needed to get to Bangor, so I called people I hoped could help. My coworker Jeff came to my rescue, but not before your generous offer.
People Don't Actually Stop to Help Stranded Drivers, Do They?
When you pulled your large black pickup into the KFC parking lot and stopped behind my car, I wondered if you were coming to my aid. I couldn't imagine that was it, because people don't seem to do that anymore.

Imagine my surprise when you leaned out the window and asked if I needed a boost. As if that weren’t sweet enough, when I told you I had someone on their way, you asked how long I'd be waiting, and offered again. As it happens, he arrived seconds after you left, but I greatly appreciated your offer.
Small Gestures Can Mean a Lot to Someone in Need
It may not have seemed like a big thing to you, but it meant so much to me that you were willing to ask and take time out of your day to help me. You're proof that there still are good people out there.
I'll do my best to pay the gesture forward in the future.
With much appreciation,
