A Colorado man arrested at a Bangor hotel on a warrant from Florida for failing to register as a sex offender has been released from jail, after Florida officials opted not to have him extradited back to their state. Michael Tegge was also wanted in Nebraska for violating sex offender laws.

Since the hands-free law went into effect, Maine law enforcement officers have written 232 tickets, with a fine and fee of 85 dollars for each. Officers are allowed to issue a ticket if they see a phone in the hands of a motorist. Drivers are allowed to use hands-free calling systems or aftermarket Bluetooth devices.

The state of Maine has partnered with Massachusetts officials to adopt a universal symbol for products containing marijuana sold for consumption. The symbol features a marijuana leaf, surrounded by a red triangle, with text reading 'Contains THC.'

Motorists traveling in the Bangor Mall area may want to avoid the intersection of Stillwater Avenue, the Bangor Parkade shopping center, and the interstate on-ramps today, as DOT crews will be doing some line painting. Today and on Thursday, that intersection will be reduced to one lane, causing traffic delays.

Volunteers are needed on November 2nd to help put the Acadia National Park Carriage Roads to bed for the winter.
