Ellsworth Police have arrested an Orrington man accused of sexual misconduct in the workplace.

Orrington, Maine Man Arrested After an Incident at an Ellsworth Drug Testing Facility

Robert Perales, 27, of Orrington, was an employee at an Ellsworth facility that provides drug-testing services when police received a report of alleged sexual assault there.

A female patient told authorities that she was at the business for an appointment when a male employee allegedly subjected her to unwanted and non-consensual sexual contact.

She also claimed he prevented her from leaving the facility for several minutes.

The victim was eventually able to leave the facility and contacted the police.

Maine Man Faces Sexual Misconduct and Kidnapping Charges After Ellsworth Incident

Ellsworth Police arrested Robert Perales at his Orrington residence the same day.

Robert Perales is charged with:

  • Kidnapping
  • Unlawful sexual contact, Class C felony
  • Unlawful sexual contact, Class C misdemeanor
  • Unlawful sexual touching
  • Criminal restraint
  • Assault

Mr. Perales is no longer employed by the Ellsworth business, following his arrest.

Maine Police Encourage Anyone Who May Have Been a Victim to Report the Incident

Maine State Police say they recognize the courage of those who come forward in sexual assault cases. Their willingness to report the incidents plays an important role in protecting others and helping law enforcement identify and investigate these crimes.

Anyone who believes they may have been the victim of a similar incident is encouraged to report it to their local law enforcement agency or through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
