A Maine landowner is recovering after being dragged by an ATV on his property.
Maine Landowner Injured After Confronting an ATV Driver on His Property
The incident began at approximately 8:30 Monday night.
A landowner on the Pequawket Lake Road in Limington watched a side-by-side ATV ride through his property at a high rate of speed.
When the ATV returned a few minutes later, the landowner stopped the vehicle and told the driver he needed to slow down.
Maine Landowner Dragged by ATV Driver After Telling Him to Slow Down
The landowner then tried to take a photo of the ATV and its registration, but the operator accelerated quickly, striking the landowner.
According to the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, the landowner was dragged for 75 feet before he got away.
The ATV driver sped off and the landowner was treated at the hospital for abrasions and contusions.
Maine Warden Service Seeks Info About ATV Driver Involved in Liminton Hit and Run
Now, the Maine Warden Service is looking for the ATV driver involved in the incident.
The ATV in question is a one-bench side-by-side that seats two people.
It's gray and black in color and has a prominent brush guard on the front.
At the time of the incident, the ATV was being driven by a man in an orange shirt, with a female passenger who had dark hair.
