An unhoused individual is charged with arson in connection with a house fire in Readfield.

Shawn Sirios, 45, is charged with two counts of arson.

Officials say he had been staying in a vehicle and was arrested on Sunday at the Readfield boat landing.

Readfield Mobile Home Destroyed by Fire Determined to Be Arson

The charges stem from a fire that destroyed a vacant mobile home at 625 Plains Road in Readfield.

The fire happened during the early morning hours of July 14th.

Officials say the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

State Fire Marshal Reports No Injuries in Readfield, Maine Mobile Home Fire

No one was hurt in the fire but the mobile home was a total loss.

Mr. Sirios was transported to the Kennebec County Jail, where bail was set at $20,000 cash.

This case remains under investigation.
