Maine Teen, Stefanie Damron's Disappearance Gets National Attention
However, nearly two years later, there's been no sign of the teen whose disappearance has garnered attention far beyond the Northern Maine woods, where she lived.
The FBI got involved, in part because of Maine's proximity to Canada, announcing in December 2024 that a $15,000 reward was being offered for information that led to the return of Stefanie or the arrest of the person(s) responsible for her disappearance.

In May 2025, Stefanie's disappearance was featured on America's Most Wanted: Missing Persons.
And in December 2025, Damron's disappearance was once again in the national spotlight when it was featured on the popular Nancy Grace Crime Stories podcast.
Missing Maine Teen's Family Plans a Ground Search in New Sweden Saturday
Now, Damron's family has organized a ground search to, once again, try to find any sign of the missing teen.
Her family has organized the private search on Saturday of four specific areas, including the New Sweden Town Hall, Thomas Park, a curve on Rista Road, and a trailhead near Beardsley Brook.
Family members say the locations were determined through different theories, tips, and information from psychics.
They ask searchers to avoid disturbing anything they find, but contact organizers immediately.
