A man with several outstanding warrants was arrested after police found him hiding under some tarps at a Litchfield house.

Maine State Troopers had received a tip that 39-year-old Daryl Hersom was back in Litchfield, after spending some time at his mother's house in Florida. Hersom was wanted on five active warrants totaling $6,700 and was known to evade law enforcement.

Troopers went to Hersom's Richmond Road residence and were given permission to search the mobile home by Daryl's live-in girlfriend. The initial search turned up no sign of him, but police were convinced that he was on the property somewhere. They called in Trooper John LaCoste and his K9 Bella from Troop C to help. Bella quickly located Hersom, who was hiding out under the back porch, covered by several tarps.

Hersom was arrested and taken to the Kennebec County Jail.
