University Issues Alert After Man Robs Orono Bank

Police are searching for a man they say robbed an Orono bank Tuesday afternoon.

Bangor Savings Bank at 110 Park St., Orono on the edge of the University of Maine campus was robbed at 12:20 p.m., according to an alert from the university.

The suspect implied he had a gun, according to the alert. The suspect is described as a thin, 6-foot-tall male wearing glasses with red frames, gray hooded sweatshirt and a black mask. The man was last seen on foot.

He also was wearing socks on his hands, according to police.

Anyone who sees the suspect is urged to call 911.
