Lewiston Police are investigating a double shooting that happened outside the Blue Goose Tavern.

Police were called to a report of a disturbance and shots fired outside the Blue Goose Tavern in Lewiston just before 1:00 am on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

When the officers arrived at the Tavern on Sabattus Street in Lewiston, they found a man and woman, both suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victims were transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where the man was pronounced deceased.

The female victim was treated and later released for her injuries.

Maine State Police were notified, and their Major Crimes Unit is aiding in the investigation.

Maine Police Have Identified the Man Who Shot 2 Victims in Lewiston

Police say they have identified the man who fired the shots, and he's cooperating with their investigation.

While not commenting on a motive for the shooting, police say they believe this is an isolated incident and there's no known danger to the public.
