A man and woman from New York City were arrested for trafficking heroin and crack cocaine during a raid on a home in Augusta, police said.

At 8 p.m. on Wednesday, the Augusta Police Department, Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Maine State Police executed a search warrant at 37 Washington Street, Augusta police said in a news release Thursday afternoon.

The warrant was granted based on facts gathered during an investigation into the distribution of heroin and crack cocaine in the Augusta area.

Police and drug agents seized 18 grams of crack cocaine, 12 grams of heroin and $1,278 from the home, the release said.

Erica Cormona, 18, faces two counts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and one count of criminal forfeiture.

Nayquan Nicholas, 28, faces two counts of unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs and one count of criminal forfeiture.

The two were transported to the Kennebec County Jail in Augusta. Bail was set at $30,000 each.
