Six 21-year-old men were fined for hosting parties attended by a 19-year-old University of Maine student before she died.

UPDATE: All six men were given fines, varying in amounts from $500 to $1,750, for their roles in the activities that preceded Adams' death. The judge said that there was no way to directly link any of the men to her death, but that they all played a part. While there was no jail time, the judge said all six men will have a criminal conviction on their records.

The State Medical Examiner determined Alexie Adams died of acute intoxication, with hypothermia as a contributing factor. Her body was found in a snowbank along Colburn Drive in Orono last February. Officials say Adams had evidence of alcohol and cocaine in her system when she died.

Charged with one count each of providing a place for minors to consume alcohol are Blake Bickford of Oakland, Ethan Smith of Massachusetts, Trevor Carter of Cross Lake, Matthew Greenlaw of Bangor, Christopher Dionne of Scarborough, and Tristan Harvie of Orono.

All six men were students at the University at the time of Adams' death.
