A tractor-trailer is off the road on I-95 northbound in Newburgh, which is slowing traffic this morning.

What Happened?

Maine State Police say a mechanical failure caused the rig to swerve off the roadway, partially blocking the left travel lane. Officials say the tractor-trailer first hit the guardrail on the right and then swerved into the median. This incident happened at mile marker 173 in Newburgh. The driver wasn't hurt and crews are working to remove the truck.

How Long Will Traffic Be Slowed?

Traffic is flowing, but only one lane is open. Drivers are advised to avoid the area until the scene can be cleared. They expect delays until around noon on Friday. Keep track of the road closure on the Maine Department of Transportation's 511 New England road condition site and on the Maine State Police Twitter page.
