Officials Say Deming Allegedly Threw Something at Police Before Entering the Building
Court documents state that Deming was part of a large group that breached the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, 2021. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Maine, Deming was on the West Plaza of the Capitol, where police officers have erected barricades made of interlocking bike racks to keep the crowd from moving closer to the building. Deming can be seen on video pulling on a bike rack barricade in an alleged attempt to infiltrate the police line. He fell while apparently using his body weight to pull on the barrier.
Just after 2 p.m., Deming threw an object toward the officers on the West Plaza before making his way up a set of stairs to the Upper West Terrace. He entered the Capitol through the Senate Wing Door and remained inside the Capitol for just over a half hour. He made his way to the third floor, where he tried to open several locked doors, including the Dome Bullfinch Door. He also entered the Senate Gallery. He exited the Capitol through the Rotunda Doors at approximately 2:56 p.m.
