
One Person is Dead After a House Fire in Presque Isle, Maine
Fire officials say it's believed a fatal house fire started in the room where the deceased was found.

The name of the deceased has not been released, pending identification by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. An autopsy is planned to determine how they died.

Two other people, who were in the home when the fire broke out, escaped unharmed.
Presque Isle, Maine, Fire Officials Say a Fire on Ginn Road Started on the Second Floor
The Presque Isle Fire Department was called to a reported house fire at 139 Ginn Road at approximately 3:43 am on Wednesday.
When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire conditions on the second floor of the house and two occupants outside of the home.

The residents advised the firefighters that a third person was believed to be on the second floor of the structure.
Investigators with the State Fire Marshal's Office were called to the scene, and a deceased adult male was found on the second floor.

While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, officials have determined that the fire started in the deceased man's bedroom.
Fire officials say the survivors were alerted by smoke detectors, but that there were no working detectors on the second floor of the house, where the fire originated.
