
2 Teens are Accused of Stealing Vehicles in the Brewer, Maine Area
A 15-year-old and a 14-year-old are facing charges in connection with stolen vehicles in Brewer and Orrington.
Brewer and Orrington, Maine Teens Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Cars
The suspects' names have not been released because they're juveniles, but officials say the 15-year-old is from Orrington and the 14-year-old is from Brewer.
They're each charged with:
- Burglary of a motor vehicle
- Theft by unauthorized taking or transfer
- Unauthorized use of property
The charges stem from an investigation that began with a report of an abandoned vehicle.
Maine Sheriff Says Several Vehicles Were Stolen from Orrington and Brewer
On July 24, 2026, the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office was contacted by the Brewer Police Department about a vehicle they later learned had been stolen from the Town of Orrington.

The two agencies worked together for several weeks on the investigation, which included other vehicles reported stolen or taken without the owner's permission in the towns of both Orrington and Brewer.
Those vehicles were eventually recovered.
The investigation led authorities to arrest the two juvenile suspects.

Officials say this investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
Maine Residents Are Reminded to Always Lock Their Vehicles
The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office reminds residents to keep their vehicles locked at all times, even when they're located in the driveway.
It's also always a good idea to remove any valuables from your vehicle at night.
