Reported Stabbing in Exeter, Maine Leads to Domestic Violence Charges

A man is facing domestic violence charges after allegedly attacking family members, one of whom was stabbed.

Maine Man Accused of Assaulting and Stabbing Family Members

Babi Taitam, 33, is charged with:

• Aggravated assault
• Domestic violence assault
• Criminal threatening

Taitam was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.

The charges stem from an incident reported to the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office on Friday, August 21, 2026, at approximately 1:07 pm.

Exeter, Maine Stabbing Call Leads to Domestic Assault Charges

Deputies responded to an address on Avenue Road in Exeter for a report of a man who was allegedly assaulting family members, including stabbing an individual.

When they arrived, the deputies found Taitam walking in the middle of the roadway and detained him.

Two individuals with injuries were located and treated by responding ambulance personnel.

Officials say the individuals in this situation were known to each other.

The investigation is ongoing  and Penobscot County authorities say more charges may be pending.
