Police Release Names Of Couple Shot In Millinocket Home Invasion
A Millinocket couple remained hospitalized Thursday after they were shot earlier this week in a home invasion.
State police Thursday identified the victims as Wayne Lapierre, 59, and his wife, Diem Lapierre, 33, according to the Portland Press Herald.
Police said the woman is recovering from her injuries, but her husband’s condition remains much more serious.
Investigators believe the couple’s home on Massachusetts Avenue was specifically targeted by the intruder or intruders.
The Lapierres were taken by ambulance to Millinocket Regional Hospital, which then went on partial lockdown to control access to the emergency room. The lockdown was lifted after the couple was transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
No arrests have been made. Police Thursday were still conducting interviews and gathering evidence at the home.
Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious near the home Tuesday is asked to contact Maine State Police in Bangor at (207) 973-7300.
