One Person Killed In Auburn Car Accident
One person was killed and two others injured in an early morning crash in Auburn.
Auburn Police report the accident happened just after 1:30 Friday morning on Washington Street South, at the off-ramp of exit 75. A vehicle driven by 57-year-old James Bannister of Turner collided with a car driven by 48-year-old Crystal Hewitt of Turner.
Hewitt was taken to Central Maine Medical Center, where she later died. A passenger in Hewitt's car, 22-year-old Janae Ulicki of Indiana, sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Bannister was also treated for minor injuries.
Police are investigating, but do not believe alcohol was a factor in the accident. So far no charges have been filed.
