Is It Too Soon To Wonder About Fall Foliage in Maine?
The past couple of days of steady, gentle, soaking rain was just want the lawn ordered. Actually, it’s about a third of the amount the lawn ordered, but at least it is a start
And next week’s forecast for the Bangor region has 3 or 4 days of probable showers. We’ll see what that does to our drought situation, and how much it helps green up that sad lookin’ lawn.
So not to look to far ahead, but a month or so from now, we will be witnessing the changing of the leaves color.
What will that be like, considering less than normal rainfall again this summer?
According to Yankee Magazine – spectacular.
Of course it depends on where exactly you do your leaf peeping. But generally despite the drought we in Maine and as a matter of fact all of Northern New England will not be all that impacted.
The mountain areas, where they generally have the best fall foliage, thanks to so many trees, should be amazing as usual.
Also, timely too. So beginning at the end of September and going into November. Grab your cup of pumpkin spice, load the fam into the car, and get out and enjoy such sheer beauty, and the it is free. (Except for the cost of your pumpkin spice)
But now, please return with me to the month of August. Time is flying by fast enough without us pushing down on the throttle. Those leaves aren't going anywhere yet.
