Bangor Police say a man is facing charges after an incident with a child he was dropping off at school.

Bangor, Maine School Officials Notified Police of an Alleged Assault on a Student

A police investigation into an incident on Thursday, June 11, 2026 resulted in the arrest of John Davis for domestic violence assault.

Officer Bobbylee Gillespie was contacted at approximately 9:15 am by administrators from a school on Moosehead Boulevard in Bangor, reporting an alleged assault on a child.

Bangor Police went to the school to investigate and say school officials turned over video evidence that allegedly showed Mr. Davis hit and kick a student that he was dropping off.

As a result of that investigation, Davis was arrested for domestic violence assault and taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
