Jackpotting is a cyberattack, where criminals install malware into ATMs, so they will dispense large amounts of money. The crooks either need to have direct access to the ATM to upload malware through a USB drive, or it can be uploaded remotely through network vulnerabilities.

Lincoln County authorities first learned of the attacks on February 21, 2025, when they responded to several stores on Maine's Midcoast to investigate suspicious activity involving their ATMs.

Business owners were alerted to a widespread cyberattack that allowed suspects to fraudulently withdraw money under the guise of normal transactions.

Maine Police Say 2 of 3 Suspects in an ATM Theft Scheme are Still At Large

Avazdavani was arrested on March 31, 2025 in Charleston, South Carolina, where he was going by the false identity of Melech Vasquez.

Officials say he was released from custody in South Carolina, although it's not clear why.

WMTW-TV reports Avazdavai was convicted in Florida in 2016 after he admitted to stealing more than $260,000 worth of airline miles from multiple American Airlines Aadvantage accounts.

Rakhmonda was arrested in Miami on March 30, 2025, and extradited back to Maine where he is being held at the Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. He faces theft charges, both criminal and felony counts, in three counties.

He appeared in court on November 5, 2025, and agreed to the terms of a deferred disposition, including paying over $38,000 in restitution. If Rakhmonda meets the terms of the deferred disposition, he will be convicted of misdemeanor theft and extradited to Florida, to face unrelated theft charges.

Radzhabov remains at large.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Avazdavani and Radzhabov is urged to contact Detective Jared Mitkus at the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office by calling 207-882-7332.
