Last week, my phone started blowing up with notifications from Facebook etc, telling me about a guy who just set the world record, verified by the Guinness Book of World Record folks, for the most Simpsons characters tattooed on his body. It's super impressive. He's got this mega back piece and two sleeves that are absolutely gorgeous.

An Australian man named Michael Baxter has over 200 various characters and scenarios. Homer doing crazy things, townspeople, one-off guest stars... you name it. He spent dozens of hours in the tattoo chair and spent almost $7000 US on it. As those of us with tattoos will tell you, what it does to your wallet hurts almost as bad.

Now, here's something about me that you may or may not know. I'm literally not far behind this guy. I have a full sleeve of Simpsons characters that I've been chipping away at for years. At last count, I have upwards of 150. So, can I really make a go of it, and try and beat the record? Maybe.

But to be honest, I'm sort of split on how I feel about it. I don't really wanna rob this guy of his title, just for the sake of doing it. I've just always added to it over the years, and here we are. This guy spent lots of time and money and really went for it. I have too, but we're also obviously huge fans of the show, and there's some mutual respect there.

So who knows? I won't lie, my tattoo guy and I may have started talking about the possibility, but it remains to be seen. It would be fun to have a world record in something so useful, hahaha, but I don't want to steal Michael's thunder either. Maybe I'll do it, but not pursue the world record. I don't know.

But in the mean time, I'll probably keep doping what I've always done and just keep chipping away at it. Feel free to scope my sleeve below....
