A 3-month-long investigation in Gardiner resulted in one arrest and the seizure of illegal drugs and a firearm.
Gardiner, Maine Man Faces Drug Trafficking Charges After Search
Dameon Loucks, 36, of Gardiner, is charged with 3 counts of aggravated trafficking in Schedule W drugs.

His arrest followed an investigation into the sale of illegal drugs from his home in Gardiner.
Maine Police Seize Drugs and a Firearm from a Gardiner Home
Maine Drug Enforcement Agents, along with Maine State and Gardiner Police, executed a search warrant at 11 Gudrun Drive in Gardiner on Thursday.

Drugs and a firearm were seized in that search, including:
- 468 grams of methamphetamine
- 757 grams of fentanyl
- 230 grams of cocaine HCL
- A firearm
Officials say the estimated street value of the drugs seized is $50,000.
Loucks is being held without bail at the Kennebec County Correctional Facility.

Also during that investigation, officials seized 50 grams of fentanyl, as well as methamphetamine.
Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid analgesic that is 100 times more potent than morphine.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency considers 2 milligrams to be a fatal dose. That means the 50 grams of fentanyl seized in this investigation has the potential to kill up to 25 thousand people.
