Five Arrested in Bangor on Drug Distribution Charges

Bangor Police and Maine Drug Enforcement Agents arrested five people on drug charges Thursday evening.

The arrests were the result of a year-long investigation into drug trafficking organizations in the Bangor area. Five people were charged in separate federal complaints.

For the drug distribution charges, each defendant faces up to twenty years in prison, a $1,000,000 fine, or both. DEA Special Agent in Charge Michael J. Ferguson said in a press release that the arrests "demonstrate the strength and continued commitment of our federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to work together to address a continuing drug problem in the Bangor area."
