Donations are being sought for a Dexter family who lost everything when their house burned this week.

The Dexter Fire Department posted on its Facebook page that Lance Merchant, Elisha Chadwick, and their 6-year-old daughter lost all their belongings this week in an early morning fire. The house was not insured and the family got out with only the clothes on their backs.

Now, the community is coming together to help them get back on their feet. An account has been set up at the Dexter Credit Union and donations can be made any of the company's branch locations. The account is in the name 'Lance & Elisha Benefit Account,' and firefighters say even the smallest amount will be a help to the family.

Clothing sizes have been released but, so far, it hasn't been decided where the donations will be accepted. Lance wears a 32x32 pant, large shirts and sweatshirts, and size 12 Wide boots or shoes. Elisha wears size 7 pants and large tops. She says she's okay with shoes. And for their daughter, size 6x or 7/8 pants and tops, and size 13/1 shoes.

More information about collection sites for donations should be posted soon on the Dexter Fire Department's Facebook page.
