It’s the first annual Founder’s Day this Sunday, April 30th at Cole Land Transportation Museum.

A first, which becomes an annual event in honor of founder Galen Cole and the legacy he left behind.

The Museum opens for the season on Monday May 1st, but this event on Sunday will be special will many special guests invited.

The public is invited to attend. The event begins at 1 p.m. and is free and open for you to attend.

Galen Cole’s life and legacy will be celebratedwith guest speakers including Senator Susan Collins, Jennifer Munson, The Museum Director, John Thomas, interim Executive Director, scott Oxley the President of the Galen Cole Family Foundation, and Kristen Vogell, one of Galen’s Granddaughters.

There will also be a performance by David Mallet and the Bangor Band. Spencer’s Ice Cream will be there giving each guest an Ice Cream on Galen.

At the conclusion of the event, the public will be welcomed into the museum lobby for a special ceremony unveiling a new statue of Galen Cole.

Jennifer Munson, Museum Director spoke about the event:

We are honored to pay tribute to Galen Cole, whose vision and dedication have made the Cole Land Transportation Museum a premier institution in Maine.

 

This event is an opportunity to celebrate the legacy he left behind and to appreciate the impact his actions had on this community.
