As shared to his social media platforms on February 9th, Platner posted about taking the stage with Dropkick Murphys, thanking the band for consistently standing up for the working class.

The post included a video showing him singing along onstage before asking the crowd if he should jump in—and then doing exactly that, diving into the audience.

It happened on Monday, February 9th, as part of Dropkick Murphys’ ‘For The People In the Pit St. Patrick’s Day 2026 Tour.’

This tour stop took place at the State Theatre in Portland and also featured opening sets from The Aggrolites, Haywire, and Slugger.

Platner is running for Susan Collins’ seat in the U.S. Senate and is hoping to secure the Democratic nomination in the June primaries.

His biggest intraparty challenge comes from current Maine Governor Janet Mills, with the two of them — along with several other hopefuls — battling it out for the chance to face Collins in November.
