Folks can pick up their flower seedlings and hanging pots this week at Brewer High School, to benefit its Outdoor Education program.

This is the second round of flower sales for the OE students. I bought some beautiful blooms earlier this month (pictured above) and they're flourishing in their new home. Along with a wide variety of annuals and perennials, they also offer already-planted pots of flowers that are gorgeous. There will be deck pots and a few indoor plants, as well. When I shopped for mine, a very nice OE student grabbed a box and walked around with me, carrying my purchases so I could shop unencumbered.

In addition to the Memorial Weekend flower sale, OE students will be washing cars, weather permitting. So you can start the weekend with a clean car, then go home and pretty up your yard with some colorful flowers. The sale will be held at Brewer High school from Noon to 5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Friday's sale will be in front of the OE building, behind the tennis courts, while Saturday's sale will be in front of the high school.

All the proceeds will help Brewer's Outdoor Education program fund their many activities. OE offers an outdoorsy alternative to traditional Physical Education, through hiking, canoeing, kayaking, and camping trips.
