UPDATE: The man has been identified. >>GO TO STORY>>

Police in Brewer are asking the public to help them identify a burglary suspect who is refusing to reveal his name.

Police responded to a report of a residential burglary on Wilson Street Tuesday at about 9 a.m.

The victim reported that the suspect gained entry by breaking a window and then fled the scene after realizing the victim was home.

Officers quickly located the suspect at a business on Wilson Street.

Police said the man provided a false name at the time of his arrest and was subsequently charged with burglary and failure to give a correct name.

Police say the man is also connected to another burglary on Pierce Road.

Police said the man has been uncooperative and will not provide his name, date of birth or any other identifying information.

Corrections officials say they have been unable to obtain fingerprints from the suspect due to his uncooperative nature.

Brewer police are expected to seek a condition of release from the court that compels him to provide fingerprints and identification before his release.

Anyone who may have information about the man's identity is asked to call the Brewer Police Department at (207) 989-7001.
