‘Betty White Challenge’ Raises Over $10,000 For Bangor Humane Society
A social media challenge to raise money for animal shelters in honor of the late Betty White paid-out big for the Bangor Humane Society.
The #BettyWhiteChallenge raised thousands, maybe even millions of dollars, for animal shelters all over the country. In honor of the late Betty White's 100th Birthday Monday, January 17, fans were encouraged to donate to their local animal shelter in her memory. Bangor Humane Society says the social media challenge helped raise over $10,000 for their organization.
In a social media post, Bangor Humane says: "We are humbled and touched by the outpouring of support for the Bangor Humane Society in honor of the beloved Betty White. Yesterday's #BettyWhiteChallenge raised over $10,000 for the pets here at our shelter. Wherever she is, we hope she is glowing with joy over knowing what an enormous impact she made on the animal welfare community."
Betty White passed away on December 31, 2021, just weeks from her 100th Birthday. In her honor, the #BettyWhiteChallenge was created, in hopes fans would donate at least $5 to their local animal shelter.

Donations can still be made at BangorHumane.org.
