Maine Drug Agents Say the Investigation Took Them to 2 Bangor Hotels

Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says the trio was arrested on March 6th, 2025, as the result of an investigation into fentanyl trafficking in the greater Bangor area. As part of that investigation, undercover agents allegedly arranged for the controlled purchase of fentanyl at a Bangor hotel.

Rusaw and Sulinski arrived at the hotel allegedly to deliver the drugs and were taken into custody by Maine Drug Enforcement Agents.

Information gathered during those arrests led law enforcement to a second Bangor hotel where they believed the alleged source of the drugs was staying. Officials say agents conducted surveillance on the room and obtained a search warrant.

Bangor Searches Resulted in the Seizure of Over 350 Grams of Fentanyl

When drug agents entered the room, Moss says Baez was allegedly trying to dispose of the fentanyl in the toilet. He was taken into custody and the drugs were recovered.

Seized from Rusaw and Sulinski at the first hotel were 38 grams of fentanyl, 29 grams of methamphetamine, and 3 grams of crack cocaine. At the second hotel, agents seized 349 grams of fentanyl, 1.5 grams of crack cocaine, and $1,340 in suspected drug proceeds.

The estimated street value of the drugs is over $40,000.
