Bangor Police arrested a Hermon man over the weekend after a violent assault on Broad Street.

Hermon, Maine Man Arrested for a Violent Assault in Bangor

Garrett Foss, 31, of Hermon, is charged with:

  • Domestic violence aggravated assault
  • Domestic Violence criminal threatening with priors and with a dangerous weapon
  • Criminal restraint
  • Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person
  • Violating conditions of release

Foss is prohibited from possessing a firearm, due to a previous conviction.

He was transported to the Penobscot County Jail.

Bangor Resident Allegedly Threatened With a Handgun During Violent Assault

The charges stem from an incident on March 29, 2026 at a residence on Broad Street in Bangor.

Police were called to the residence just after 10:00 pm for a reported domestic violence incident.

When officers arrived, they determined that the victim had been violently assaulted and allegedly threatened with a firearm.

An investigation into the assault led the police to arrest Foss on multiple charges.
