
Maine Man Left a Stinky Gift for Homowners After Allegedly Stealing a Safe
It was a smelly surprise for homeowners in Maine after someone stole their safe.
A Safe Was Stolen from an Apartment in Rockland, Maine
Rockland Police say Robert King of Whitefield is a suspect in a bizarre burglary.
Officerswere called to a local apartment for a report of a burglary on March 23, 2026, and found that the owner's safe was missing from the residence.

But that's not all that was 'off' about the apartment.
Whoever had taken the safe left something behind that was impossible to miss.

The suspect had doused the home in liquid skunk essence before they left.
I can't even imagine how you would go about getting rid of that kind of smell.

I guess the owners will find out.
Detectives watched surveillance videos from local businesses and were able to find some of the stolen items in a nearby dumpster.
Whitefield, Maine Man Faces Charges for Rockland Burglary
Rockland authorities worked with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office to execute a search warrant at a home in Whitefield.
Later that day, Robert King, 60, of Whitefield, was arrested on a warrant for felony burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, and theft.
This case remains under investigation.
