Infant Dies After Injured By Family Pet In Bangor [UPDATE]
An infant who was injured by a family dog has died, according to a media release from the Bangor Police Department.
Police and fire personnel responded to a residence in Bangor on July 29. The child, a 3-week-old boy, was transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center, but succumbed to the injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The boy belonged to a couple from Aroostook County who were visiting relatives on Bangor's west side.
On Monday, police said there would be no charges. The dog would be euthanized.
