Tomorrow is the first day of April of course, and it is also the first day of the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter’s 27th Annual Hike for the Homeless.

The event is virtual and runs through April 30.

You can register you, your family or your team here.

You’ll look good in the T-Shirt you get for participating.

And you’ll feel good knowing that you got involved in a cause that changes the lives of the most vulnerable community members.

Versant Power and Darling’s Auto Group have stepped up and are sponsoring the hike, and other area businesses have stepped up too, contributing prizes.

Bangor Area Homeless Shelter will have a drawing for prizes at the end of the month for numerous prizes from Dunnett Appliance & Mattress, Quality Jewelers, Slipping Gears, Day’s Jewelers, One Lupine Maine Yarn, Epic Sports and more.

Participation begins at only $25. And 86 cents of every dollar goes directly to the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter program. Funds that provide bed nights, diversion and navigation services, laundry and transportation vouchers, and many other services that lead to permanent housing for BAHS guests.

New this year, families can register for a flat fee of $30 per family and add $10 for each additional T-Shirt requested.

And if the event is virtual, well if you raise the money, do you actually have to walk if you’re not feeling it that day?  If a tree falls in the forest and there’s nobody there to hear it…. I’m not saying a thing.

It’s virtual. It’s up to you.
