
Nearly 200,000 Heated Blankets and Heating Pads Recalled Over Burn Risks
With the colder months approaching, it’s important to be aware of this ongoing safety recall involving heated blankets.

JKMax has recalled about 195,000 heated blankets and heating pads sold on Amazon because their internal heating wires can overheat, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The company received 577 reports of the products smoking, melting or burning, including 53 reports of burn injuries as of Sept. 17.

The recall includes heated blankets and pads with model numbers JKMAX-002, JKMAX-7284B, JKMAX-6284B, JKMAX-10090B and JKMAX-8490B, sold in multiple sizes and in blue, gray, brown or red.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the model number appears on the back of the detachable heat-control remote and on a white label attached to the packaging.


The recalled products were sold in one- and two-packs between September 2022 and July 2026.
