Bangor, Blue Hill Women Seriously Hurt In Head-On Crash
A Bangor woman and a Blue Hill woman were life-flighted to Eastern Maine Medical Center after their vehicles collided Friday morning on Route 172 in Blue Hill.
Vehicles operated by Nancy Bates, 66, of Blue Hill and Michaela Cole, 22 of Bangor crashed head-on around 8:30 a.m.
Steven McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, told the Ellsworth American one of the vehicles crossed the center line but police are not sure which vehicle that was.
McCausland described the injuries suffered by the women as "serious."
There were no other occupants in the vehicles.
The road was shut down for more than an hour while crews cleaned up the accident.
State police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to call them at (207) 973-3700.
