In an effort to raise money Bangor Area Recovery Network, or BARN on Center Street in Brewer, has opened registration for a softball tournament.

Proceeds from the tournament will go toward covering everything from the cost of rehab for someone in need to providing professional clothes for someone in recovery who has a job interview.

The tournament is called Batting for Recovery. If you would like to play softball  and help out those seeking recovery, you can register to play at BARN, at 142 Center Street in Bangor today between 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., or tomorrow the 6th between 7 pm and 9 pm. The registration cost is $30. T-shirt costs $15, and again all proceeds will benefit BARN’s Recovery Coaching Participant Fund.

  3. Recovery overcomes Shame & Stigma
  4. Supporting Recovery is a Community Responsibility

The date(s) of the softball tournament will depend on the number of people and teams that sign up. And BARN will make the announcement very soon, with the expectation that the games will be near the end of this month and the location of the tournament should be announced at the same time. As they say, stay tuned.
