A local man is facing charges for allegedly shooting at a woman with a rifle in his home.
Bangor, Maine Man Faces Multiple Charges for Alleged Shooting in His Home
Bangor Police say Stanley Swallow, 43, of Bangor is charged with:
- Elevated aggravated assault
- Aggravated reckless conduct
- Criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon
- Refusal to submit to arrest or detention
- Violation of conditions of release.
He was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
Bangor, Maine Woman Says a Man Shot at Her With a Rifle in His Home
Officers were called to a Union Street shelter on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at approximately 5:18 pm, for a report of an alleged shooting incident.
A woman at the shelter told authorities that Swallow had allegedly fired a rifle at her several times earlier that day, during an altercation at his residence on Sanford Street.
She said she was able to escape being shot but suffered minor injuries.
Officers arrested Swallow later that evening.
