A Waterville woman died on Monday when a large branch fell on her moving vehicle.

The high winds on Monday caused many power outages, and damaged trees, including one that claimed the life of 31-year-old Rochelle Hager of Waterville. Farmington Police told WGME-TV that Hager was driving on Knowlton Corner Road just before 10 a.m. when wind gusts caused several large branches to fall onto the roadway. The largest of the limbs landed on the driver's side roof of Hager's vehicle.

Officials say she died before first responders arrived. The winds also brought down power lines and a utility pole.

Knowlton Corner Road was closed for about two hours while police cleared the scene and CMP repaired the utility pole and lines.
