Crews from several towns were called to a house fire in Enfield overnight that claimed the lives of two pets.

Lincoln Fire posted on the department's Facebook page that crews responded to 489 Enfield Road just before 2:30 Thursday morning. Firefighters found heavy fire in the kitchen and living room before opening up the ceilings throughout the home. It was then that they realized the fire had also affected the attic.

No people were hurt, but officials say two family pets died in the blaze. The homeowners are getting help from family members and the American Red Cross.

Investigators will now work to determine how the fire started.
