Police say a train and a dump truck collided Thursday morning on Western Avenue in Hampden near the Dead River plant.

A LifeFlight helicopter was been called to the scene.

Police have set up detours around the area.

Police say that the driver of the dump truck, 63-year-old Frederick Lindsay swerved around a car, stopped at the crossing, and somehow ended up colliding with the train. He was taken to EMMC by Lifeflight helicopter but was conscious and talking throughout the rescue.
