Court documents state that a fatal shooting in Swanville was allegedly the result of a love triangle.

22-year-old Austin McDevitt of Morrill is charged with murder for the shooting death of 26-year-old Shane Sauer of Belfast. According to WGME-TV, court documents state that McDevitt told police he was sleeping with a woman in a camper behind a mobile home where the woman's family lived, when he was awakened Friday by Sauer punching him in the face. The two men then fought inside the camper, and McDevitt claims the other man threatened to kill him. He says that's when he shot Sauer seven times.

McDevitt then drove to the Belfast Police Department to turn himself in. He told police the gun he used was locked in the glove box of his car.
