An Albion man faces charges after getting into an altercation with an official at an Orono Middle School charity basketball game.

Orono Police say the incident happened just after 10 a.m. Sunday during a charity basketball game at Orono Middle School. James Parsons, Jr., 52, who was a spectator, is believed to have become upset at game officials. An altercation followed, during which Parsons was ejected by game officials, but refused to leave the building.

Parents and other spectators reportedly restrained Parsons until police could arrive. He's been charged with assault, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct. Police say a few minor injuries were reported in the incident.

Parsons was taken to the Penobscot County Jail, where he made bail. Police say he's due in court on April 4.
