A special election today in Bangor and Orono will decide the replacement for former Representative Aaron Frey.

The special election became necessary when Governor Janet Mills appointed Frey to the position of Attorney General. Hoping to fill the now-vacant seat are Bangor business owner and Democrat Joe Perry and Maine Maritime Academy Graduate and Republican Thomas White. The winner will serve as representative for House District 124, which covers part of the east side of Bangor and part of Orono.

Bangor residents in HD 124 can vote at the Cross Insurance Center until 8:00 this evening. In Orono, residents can vote in the Council Chambers, upstairs in the Town Office, until 8:00 p.m.
