After the Victim Was Found in a Hallway, Police Began Looking For Her Killer
Police were called to Pierce Street in Lewiston just after 11:00 in December 2022 for a report of a deceased woman in a hallway. The victim's body was transported to the Chief Medical Examiner's Office in Augusta, where an autopsy confirmed the woman's identity as Howard and ruled her death a homicide.
An arrest warrant was issued for Eddie Massie, known by 'Fast Eddie' and TT, and police put out an alert to the public, advising that he was considered armed and dangerous. Police eventually found him at a property in Greene, Maine, and took him to the Androscoggin County Jail, where he was held without bail.
Officials Say the Murder Happened During a Disagreement
Court documents state that Massie and Howard were arguing on the day that she died and, as she walked away from him, WGME-TV reports he shot her in the back of the head. She died less than a week before her 25th birthday. Family members would later say that she was trying to end the relationship when she was killed.
Initially, Massie pleaded not guilty to the murder charge but changed that plea to guilty. This week, he was sentenced to 30 years behind bars.
