Police Took Precautions After Learning Firearms Were Allegedly Traded for Drugs
An investigation into the sale of narcotics out of a Cleveland Avenue campsite sent the police into the city's largest homeless encampment on Thursday. Because it was alleged to the police that the people responsible for the illegal sales were armed and were sometimes trading firearms for narcotics, Bangor Police took the Special Response Unit with them, out of an abundance of caution. No shots were fired in the raid that resulted in a number of people being taken into custody.
