You Could Own U.S. Sen. Susan Collins’ Bangor, Maine Home For A Cool $727K
While a majority of the traffic that travels along West Broadway in Bangor is a mix of locals cutting through the neighborhood and tourists stopping to gawk at Stephen King's house, there are some other homes on that street that are worthy of a second look.
While most recently, it's received some press because some artist/activists decided to decorate the sidewalk in front of the residence with messages written in sidewalk chalk, U.S. Senator Susan Collins' house is actually a beautiful structure that's been well maintained for as long as I can remember, and I've lived in the city for quite some time.
Before buying her house on West Broadway, Senator Collins lived in another house in the Little City area of town.
The Maine Republican's West Broadway home will be hitting the market soon, if you were looking to buy a house in Bangor (I did notice some extensive landscaping taking place a couple of weekends ago when I drove by and wondered if she might be getting ready to sell.)
Priced at $727,000, the listing says the house boasts 4 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms and is 4,250 square feet.
According to Zillow.com, it was built in 1909. The single-family home features a heat pump, with radiant heat from Natural Gas.
The residence has a finished basement, a first-floor laundry room right off the kitchen, and plenty of gorgeous bathrooms.
Not surprisingly, aside from a 2 car garage and some privacy fencing, the property also comes with a security system.
Collins' spokeswoman Annie Clark told the Bangor Daily News the senator and her husband were looking for a smaller home in Bangor with more land on which their dog could play.
