Saturday Crash in Canaan Leaves One Dead, Two Injured

A Saturday night accident in Canaan left one man dead, and two others injured.

The accident happened just after 7 p.m., on the Hill Road. WABI-TV reports 55-year-old Scott Miller of Clinton died in the crash. The vehicle's driver, 44-year-old David Johnson, and another passenger, 58-year-old Robert Archer, were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries. Both men are from Clinton.

The investigation is ongoing, but police say it appears Johnson failed to negotiate a turn and struck a tree, head-on. Alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
